Dear Friends of Sonia Nieto,

When we began work on the Sonia Nieto Fund for Multicultural Education, we
set our goal to raise $25,000. We have received gifts from many of the guest
who attended the dinner as well as others who were not able to make the
event for which we are very grateful. To date, we have raised $5,500. We
still have a ways to go to meet our goal. We hope you will accept this note
as a reminder that you still may contribute to the Sonia Nieto Fund for
Multicultural Education.

Your gift will not only honor Dr. Nieto and her important work in
multicultural education, but also serve to encourage young scholars who will
be able to continue her work and carry her legacy forward. Throughout her
distinguished career, Sonia remained committed to bringing together theory
and practice, and in combining academic excellence with advocacy which
serves as a model and an inspiration. In the School of Education, we are
proud of her, and we are equally proud of the opportunity to encourage and
assist young scholars as they follow the exemplary path she has defined in
multicultural education.

We deeply appreciate your support to the Sonia Nieto Fund for Multicultural
Education. You may access our Web site at www.umass.edu/give
<http://www.umass.edu/give> to contribute as well as track our progress as
we strive to reach our goal of $25,000. Or, you may make checks payable to
The Sonia Nieto Fund and sent to:

School of Education, Development Office,
Room 123 B, Furcolo Hall,
