Thank you for your interest on TitleIx.info!

Petition packs a Punch: Over 7,200 signatures and growing!

kick.jpg> Thanks to all of you who signed the petition and sent it on to
your friends. We need to keep the pressure on because Title IX opponents are
urging colleges to send out the Administration's new seven-page email survey
as a way to assess student interest in sports participation. If the student
doesn't respond, the school can interpret that as non-interest and not add
new sports programs. When I was in college I was way too busy to fill out a
7-page survey but that didn't mean I wasn't interested in sports! I've
learned that if you want to win badly enough, you have to keep fighting
until you get the job done. So, we're going to keep fighting. It's not easy,
but in the end, it's the kids who will win. I'll stay in touch to let you
know how we're doing and ask for your help when we need it. If you haven't
signed the petition, click

just make sure they can."

New York Times writer, Tamar Lewin: "At colleges women are leaving men in
the dust."

Softball Umpire Helps Bring Nation's 18th Largest School District into Title
IX Compliance

Jack Mowatt, a long-time softball umpire for the public schools in Prince
George's County, Maryland, didn't want to ump on fields he knew were unsafe.
When officials didn't respond to his concerns about the conditions of girls'
softball fields, he asked the National Women's Law Center for help. Now they
have an agreement with the county Board of Education that will fix the
safety problems and bring the school system's athletics program into full
compliance with Title IX. Click
