ADL  LAUNCHES ONLINE CURRICULUM ON ANTI-SEMITISM  
New York, NY, September 11, 2006 … The  latest in the Anti-Defamation 
League's (ADL) series of free online anti-bias  lesson plans explores the myths and 
stereotypes surrounding anti-Semitism. 
ADL's _Curriculum  Connections_ 
(http://www.adl.org/education/curriculum_connections)  is a series of original lesson  plans that help K-12 educators 
integrate multicultural, anti-bias and social  justice themes into their curricula. 
 
The Fall 2006 installment, “Challenging Anti-Semitism: Debunking the Myths 
and Responding with  Facts” teaches  (http:/
/www.adl.org/education/curriculum_connections/spring_2006) elementary,  middle and high school students grades 
3-12 how to challenge myths and  stereotypes about Jewish people, and provides 
ways for young people to  effectively respond to anti-Semitic incidents. 
“Challenging Anti-Semitism: Debunking the Myths and Responding with  Facts” 
consists of four lesson plans: Establishing Ground Rules (Grades 3 &  up); 
Understanding Judaism and the Jewish  Community (Grades 3-6); Using  Facts to 
Respond to Anti-Semitism (Grades 8-12); and Anti-Semitism: Past and Present 
(10-12).  
The lesson plan also contains a number of  resources for educators, students 
and families, including a myths and facts  booklet on anti-Semitism, a 
handbook on the teaching of religion in public  schools, a teacher’s guide for the 
2004 Miramax film version of Shakespeare’s _Merchant of  Venice_

multimedia curriculum on the Holocaust  that includes video of first person 
testimony from Holocaust  survivors.
