Assistant Professor with Special Responsibilities in Actuarial Science

The Department of Mathematics anticipates an opening for a tenure-track

position at the Assistant Professor level starting Fall 2007 with

special responsibilities in Actuarial Science. These responsibilities

normally include teaching two actuarial related courses each semester,

assisting with program administration, and conducting research. The

Department has a strong actuarial program, awarding Bachelor's,

studies. Ability to coordinate a large Italian language program is a

must.  Proven interest in film, gender, and Italian-American studies is

desirable as is participation in the programs of Comparative Literary

and Cultural Studies and American Studies.

Quantitative Psychology

 

Department of Psychology

 

 

 

The Psychology Department at the University of Connecticut invites

applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate

Professor level to begin Fall 2007.  We are interested in candidates who

combine expertise in quantitative methods with substantive research

interests.  Applicants should be able to teach courses in our graduate

statistics curriculum and contribute to our interdivisional graduate

certificate in Quantitative Research Methods.  The individual's

substantive area of research expertise is open.  

 

 

 

The Department currently has 51 full-time faculty and 150 doctoral

students, and offers Ph.D.s in the areas of Behavioral Neuroscience,

Clinical, Developmental, Experimental, I/O, and Social Psychology.

Interdivisional collaborations are strongly encouraged, as evidenced by

our graduate certificate programs (in Quantitative Research Methods,

Occupational Health Psychology, and Health Psychology) and by

interdivisional programs in neuropsychology, cognitive science, and

developmental psychopathology.  The Department has an exceptional record

of external grant support and scholarly productivity, and enjoys the

reputation as one of UConn's outstanding departments.

Database Programmer (UCP V)

 

Office of Undergraduate Admissions

 

 

 

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Connecticut

is seeking an energetic, experienced, and self-motivated individual for

the position of Database Programmer.  Under the direction of the

Director and Senior Associate Director, the Database Programmer

maintains, organizes, and manipulates extensive data in the PeopleSoft

Student Administration system to meet the high demands of the department

and the University.  Duties include extraction of data from PeopleSoft

and the Student Administration Warehouse using PSQuery and BRIO to

create reports for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the

University community; work closely with the Office of Institutional

Research on the completion of surveys and the reconciliation of

enrollment numbers for official reporting; maintain passwords for legacy

system; oversee Admissions volume on the University's server; liaison to

UITS on Admissions server issues; extraction of data for recruitment

mailings; provide PeopleSoft production support which includes bundle

and upgrade testing, processing support, etc.; and participation in the

fall and spring University-wide Open Houses.  This position requires

strong technical skills in database management.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree with a focus in programming,

database administration or related discipline; project management;

strong customer service and excellent communication skills.  Experience

in PeopleSoft administration preferred.
