Bob Suzuki was teaching the same class--at one of the Pomona Colleges (I believe) in the early 1970's. At CSULA, at early as 1970--members of the Asian, Black and Chicano Pride program (a student run program) were developing ethnic studies courses for elementary children. If you include ethnic studies programs, multicultural education---the date would need to be moved back. In 1978, the program became the Multicultural Pride Program.

>> I'm trying to ascertain the start of institutionalized multicultural teacher
