Loyola University Chicago School of Education invites applications for
the following full-time positions, starting date August 2007. The NCATE
accredited M.Ed., Ed.D., and Ph.D. programs in the School of Education
prepare school leaders and educators for diverse and urban schools and
post-secondary institutions. Application Process: All applicants are
asked to submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, samples of
scholarly work, copy of the doctoral degree transcript, and three
letters of recommendation directly to: www.careers.luc.edu. Start date
August 2007, initial review of applications beginning November 15, 2006,
continuing until the position is filled. Curriculum and Instruction:
Tenure-track position, assistant professor rank, with primary teaching,
research and service responsibilities in teaching and learning in urban
schools. Qualifications: earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction;
teaching and research experience in urban K-12 schools; experience with
university-public school urban partnerships; familiarity with culturally
relevant pedagogy. Chair: Dr. Dorothy Giroux, dgiroux at luc.edu
Educational Leadership: Tenure-track position, Assistant Professor, with
primary teaching, research and service responsibilities in urban school
leadership. Qualifications: earned doctorate in Educational Leadership;
teaching and administrative experience in Urban K-12 schools; leadership
experience with partnership processes necessary for collaboration with
diverse stakeholders; successful experience in grant writing. Chair: Dr.
Janis Fine, jfine at luc.edu. Higher Education: Tenure-track position,
Associate or Assistant Professor level with primary teaching, research
and service responsibilities in urban post-secondary education.
Qualifications: earned doctorate Higher Education or Educational
Leadership (with post-secondary focus) and administrative experience in
urban post-secondary education. Applicants at the Assistant level:
previous graduate level teaching preferred, evidence of research promise
expected. Associate level: active, established research program and

Research Methodology: Tenure-track Assistant Professor position with
primary teaching, research and service responsibilities in research
methodology for urban education and the social sciences. Qualifications
include: an earned doctorate with experience in qualitative research
education methods; an active research program that advances the use of
qualitative research methods to address urban-based educational and
social issues. Chair: Dr. Terri Pigott, tpigott at luc.edu. Teaching and
Learning- Secondary Education: Clinical Assistant Professor with
primary teaching and service responsibilities in urban-focused secondary
education program. Qualifications: earned doctorate in secondary
education or related field; leadership experience in urban secondary
schools. Chair: Dr. Ernestine Riggs, eriggs at luc.edu. Individual
