Hello, friends.

I have been asked to chair Section 6 of Division K for the 2007 AERA
conference. This section focuses on "Teacher education for
multicultural/social justice and/or differentiated instruction." (AERA
2007 will be April 9-13 in Chicago.

One of my "duties" is to gather a group of groovy volunteers to
review conference proposals. I know, it doesn't sound super-exciting, but
for those of us committed to social justice education this is a real
chance to have a real impact on what kinds of voices will be
heard at AERA, one of the biggest conferences in the world.

You do need to be an AERA member to participate.

Here's what you need to do if you're interested:

1. Email me to let me know

2. Go the the AERA web site and log in using your member # and
password. (If you don't remember your member # and password, there's a
simple process for retrieving them by just providing your email
address)

3. Once you're logged in, scroll down until you see "Announcements" on the
right side of the Web page. Click on "You can volunteer to be a reviewer
for the 2007 AERA Annual Convention."

4. At the end of the first paragraph on that page you'll see a link to the
Proposal Submission System. Click on that link.

5. Click on the top link, "Submit your 2007..."

6. Under the Submitter menu, click on the 2nd option, "Volunteer to be a
chair..."

7. Follow that process through until you volunteer for Division K, Section 6.

The proposal period ends August 2. As that approaches I'll provide more
details. Please volunteer!!!

Thanks!

Paul
