Diversity and Aging in the 21st Century

Join AARP  on September 6-8 at the Diversity and Aging
in the 21st Century Conference in  Los Angeles. The
conference will address the challenges facing  diverse
populations as they age, and help to build personal
and  programmatic cultural competence.

Attached is the conference flyer in PDF  format.

Honorable Antonio Villaraigosa will join our gala
event for  welcome remarks, and guests will be treated
to a concert featuring legendary  performer Etta James.
Conference keynote speakers also include Julian  Bond,
Anna Deavere Smith and Hector Elizondo.

The Diversity and Aging  Conference will afford you the
opportunity to:

· Learn about the  emerging trends, cutting-edge
research, and innovative programs on diversity  and
aging

· Learn about the issues faced by older adults
from  diverse communities

· Develop tools to build a culturally  competent
organization

Session topics being covered include: “Who  Will
Provide the Care?—The Impact of a Diverse Global
Workforce” and “It  Takes a Village: Constructing New
Forms of Family,” among others.

Who  should attend the Conference?

Managers and administrators, health  care
professionals, marketing and business professionals,
social service  and aging professionals and diversity
practitioners. 

Attendees can  also receive continuing education
credits (CEUs).
