Job Announcement

Position:               Executive Director

Effective Date:         Immediately (Open until filled)

The American Indian Graduate Center, Inc. (AIGC) is the premier national,
private non-profit organization administering higher education scholarship
programs and student services for American Indian and Alaska Native students
attending a large variety of colleges and universities across the nation.

The Executive Director of AIGC serves as the chief executive officer and
reports to a nine-member Board of Directors. The Executive Director will
serve as AIGC's spokesperson and is responsible for overseeing AIGC's
programs and operations in accordance with its mission, long-term vision,
purposes and policies, and in coordination with the AIGC Board.  The
Executive Director will manage, coordinate, and facilitate key partnerships
with AIGC, and provide management supervision necessary to ensure the
organization's efficient and effective operation.

Position Requirements:

*       Advanced degree in a relevant field.
*       Minimum 5 years nonprofit management or similar experience.
*       Commitment and experience working with and serving Indian people and
communities.
*       Self-directed, energetic, tenacious and dynamic leader and manager
qualities.
*       Effective fundraising skills and experience.
*       Problem-solver, able to review information, process that information in
real time, and ask appropriate questions.
*       Strong collaborator and facilitator.
*       Excellent communication and writing skills.
*       Knowledgeable about information technology.
*       Knowledgeable of federal contract regulations and procedures, management
of endowments, and financial aid processes for education.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, as
well as skills in management, finance, communications, and fundraising for a
multi-faceted cultural organization; will have knowledge of and experience
in working with American Indian/Alaska Native individuals, organizations,
and communities.  The successful candidate will have enthusiasm for
institutional development so as to direct fundraising and public relations
for the organization; the skill to successfully and seamlessly interact
within the academic, government and private sectors to promote the
organization; the ability to assemble and oversee a diverse professional
staff; and the ability to foster a friendly work environment that functions
with educational, cultural, and fiscal goals.  The successful candidate will
