Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) would like to
announce their job opening for Equity Specialist:

 

The Pacific Comprehensive Assistance Center (Pacific Center) supports
and assists states, school districts, and schools in meeting the needs
of children served under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as
amended, in order to ensure that all students meet high academic
standards. 


This position is funded under a subcontract with Northwest Regional
Educational Laboratory's (NWREL) Equity Center located in Portland,
Oregon.  The Equity Center serves Region X which includes the Pacific
regions of American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana
Islands, Guam, Hawaii, and Palau. The Equity Center is one of 10
regional equity assistance centers funded by the U.S. Department of
Education to assist schools in the areas of national origin, race, and
gender equity. The Specialist will be based at PREL in Honolulu, HI.
The Specialist will collaborate with NWREL's Equity Center educational
service delivery team to provide training and technical assistance in
school improvement and educational equity areas designated under Title
IV of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the No Child Left Behind Act.  The
Specialist will contribute to the development, adaptation, and scaling
up of educational materials appropriate to the Pacific region.
