Seeking an Assistant Professor of Education: Multicultural Education,
African-American Psychology
Basic Function: The Department of Education at Davidson College, a
small, highly selective liberal arts college in Davidson, North Carolina
(twenty miles north of Charlotte), invites applications for a tenure
track Assistant Professor of Education beginning in the fall semester of
2007.
Essential Functions: The successful candidate will teach five courses
per academic year, including courses in Multicultural Education,
Educational Psychology, and Adolescent Development (cross-listed with
the Psychology department), with the possibility of teaching
Introductory Psychology.
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in School Psychology, Educational
Psychology, Multicultural Education (or other closely related field),
and the potential for or demonstrated competence in teaching,
scholarship, and service.
Preferred Qualifications: A candidate with interests in teaching
African-American Psychology and in maintaining a close relationship with
the public schools, especially working with minority students, will be
preferred.
